Why Tabacon
Two decades of working on Hudson Valley properties, and a few things we do differently.
Roofs and siding get low-pressure soft washing; driveways and concrete get power washing. Matching the method to the surface is what keeps a clean from turning into damage.
Working here since 2003 means we know what Hudson Valley weather does to wood, siding and roofs — and what it takes to bring them back.
The same crew handles a single driveway and a full commercial building, so the standard does not change with the size of the job.
Biodegradable cleaning solutions and low-moisture methods, chosen so they are safe around your planting, your pets and your people.
Where We Work
Family-owned and based in the Hudson Valley. From Millbrook outward, we clean homes and businesses across these communities:
Dutchess County
Millbrook is the village at the heart of the Town of Washington, in the open country of central Dutchess County. Beyond the shops on Franklin Avenue the land opens into rolling fields, horse farms and big country properties, with houses set well back from the road at the end of long gravel drives. Out here a house takes the weather from every side. There is no row of neighbors to break the wind, so rain and snow drive straight into the siding, and the dust and pollen blowing off the fields land on every wall, window and deck. That is what most exterior cleaning in Millbrook comes down to: lifting a fine film of grime and growth off large surfaces, gently, without damaging older materials.
Houses around Millbrook tend to be large, and many have a lot of glass, wide porches and decks that look out over the land. That makes house washing and window cleaning a natural pair here, done in the same visit so the glass is clean when the siding is. Plenty of Millbrook homes are weekend or second homes, and that suits this kind of work well: nothing we do needs you on site, so we can arrange access and timing with you or whoever looks after the property, and let you know when the job is finished. In the village itself we also clean shopfronts, entryways and walkways along Franklin Avenue.
The Millbrook year follows the fields around it. Mud season in early spring turns gravel drives soft, and every car that comes up the drive splashes a brown band onto the lowest siding and the garage doors. Late spring and early summer bring pollen off the pastures and hedgerows, a yellow dust that settles on windows, porches and outdoor furniture. By midsummer it is dry road dust instead. In autumn the old maples and oaks along the drives fill the gutters, and over the winter snow sits on the shaded slopes of big roofs, where the streaks and green growth show up first in spring.

Questions
Yes. We work throughout the Town of Washington, including Mabbettsville, Lithgow and Washington Hollow, as well as neighboring Stanfordville and Unionvale.
Yes. Exterior cleaning doesn't need anyone at home. We arrange access and timing with you, or with your caretaker or property manager, and let you know as soon as the job is finished.
On properties with gravel or dirt drives, cars and rain kick dust and mud up onto the lowest few feet of siding and the garage doors, especially in mud season. It builds up in a band that a garden hose rarely shifts. A house wash takes it off, and it is usually the first thing Millbrook homeowners notice once it's gone.
Yes. On larger Millbrook houses with a lot of glass, it makes sense to do both together, so the windows aren't spotted by the house wash afterwards. You get a time estimate with the quote, since bigger homes take longer.
After, if you can wait. The heaviest pollen off the fields usually comes in late spring and early summer, and it settles on everything again within days. Washing once it has passed keeps the house clean for much longer. If the house needs it sooner, a wash in early spring and a quick window clean later in the season works well too.
Yes. Decks facing open fields take full sun and wind all day, and the wood turns grey and picks up green growth in the shaded corners. A proper deck cleaning lifts the grey, weathered surface and the growth, and leaves the boards ready to seal or stain if you want to protect them.
Yes. We clean storefronts, entryways, sidewalks and windows for businesses in the village, and we can schedule the work outside opening hours so it doesn't get in the way of customers.
